Missed Opportunity

The Hillary Clinton campaign has announced its campaign song – Celine Dion’s “You and I”.

Celine Dion.  Can’t you just feel the energy?

I guess no Barry Manilow songs were available.

The obvious best choice for any Democrat intent on undoing the damage done over the last two terms is “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

I’m sure this choice was made after numerous focus groups. It’s as “hip” as choosing Fleetwood Mac was in 1990. I read the lyrics, and they are trite, as would be expected.

I’m guessing that the shakiest demographic for her may, in their estimate, be boomers who have lost all hope. Obviously, if they are going for the youth group, the choice would have been different.

Actually, “Won’t Get Fooled Again” isn’t so hot as a campaign song either, if one pays attention to the lyrics – (“Meet the new boss, same as the old boss” is hardly inspiring). But, it’s a great song with a great title.

And anything would be better than Celine Dion.
